I love a new year. Every year I get excited about a "clean slate" and a fresh start. Putting up a new calendar (a gift from my son Brock). Re-organizing my blog. Prioritizing. Planning. Etc.
This year you might be noticing a few changes on my blog - not in the look (I didn't change my template) but in the things I'm posting and the focus on each day. I've also made some changes in the pages at the top of the blog. Gone is "Maximize in 2016" (it's replaced with "Joy in 2017"). There are some changes in the Former Design Teams (I resigned from three DTs effective the end of 2016). And my "Daily on My Blog" has some changes to it, as well.
One thing I'm focusing on this year - a part of my word JOY - is learning new things. So on Tuesdays I'm going to try to post a card/project with something new that I'm learning. Today is the first Tuesday of 2017 so here we go....
I saw a youTube video (I'm sorry, I don't remember whose it was) that introduced me to a product I'd never heard of before - Nuvo Embellishment Mousse. Well... of course I had to buy some. And today I gave it a try.
I simply used my finger to rub the smooth gold mousse onto the edges of my cardstock. It was fun - and a wee bit messy. And the lack of a uniform look makes me happy.
I'm going to be experimenting more with this product in the future. So far, I'm liking it!
And about the quote stamp...
I actually WON this Wise Men stamp set from The Project Bin during their Pin It event a month or more ago and just now got around to using it. It is an amazing stamp set - I see a lot of possibility with it.
Here's the inside of my card:
