His Light Shines

It's time for a new Sweet Stampin' Challenge...

September 17 - 23
Theme: Anything But a Card
Sponsor: Live and Love Crafts

I hope you'll participate!

I decided to do another page/entry in my Journaling Bible:

The procedure is really quite simple. First I used an old (repurposed) gift card to carefully smear acrylic paint (Masters Touch) a'll over the area I would be using. This helps prevent bleeding and shadowing on the backside of the page. I chose a cream color that closely matched the page itself, since I really didn't want the paint to be the focus.

After the paint was dry I stamped the lightbulb (Unity "Light Bulb Moment") with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I used an Illustrated Faith marker to draw the line that represents the cord that the light is hanging from.

When the ink had dried, I carefully attached a Sun Ray (My Favorite Things) stencil to the page and used a makeup wedge to add the Tim Holtz "Squeezed Lemonade" distressed ink to the page. Again, I allowed time for it to dry.

Finally I added a few rhinestones (Recollections) and highlighted the scripture verse that was the focus of this journal entry.

You light a lamp for me,
The Lord, my God, lights up my darkness.
Psalm 18:28

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

Love how you have done this illustration Jeanette - it is so gentle and complementary to the scripture.

Just popping in for the JessicaLynn blog hop. I couldn't find your post - would you please email me at fitkitty1@gmail.com to let me know when it's up as I'd like to come back to check out your card. The new Brentwood Halloween stamp set is adorable and I'd like to see what you've made. Thanks so much!
