Pray!

If you were on my blog yesterday, you saw my personal favorite of the 12 cards I made for the Silent Auction at our statewide Women's Meeting.

Today I'll show you the card that was our state President's favorite. (She's the person who asked me to make the cards for the auction.)

With Sympathy

This past weekend was our statewide Women's Conference. For the past few years we've had a Silent Auction as part of that event. The money raised goes toward a very special cause.

This year, our president asked me to make a dozen cards to put in the Silent Auction, which I gladly did. I was delighted to be able to help the cause!

This is my personal favorite of the 12 cards I made:

What Day Is It?

What a fun time we're going to have at Sweet Stampin' Challenges this week!

http://sweetstampinchallengeblog.blogspot.co.uk/

April 18 - 24

Theme: Anything But a Card

Now, I'm normally a cardmaker, and nothing else, but this challenge moved me out  of my comfort zone and I made something that isn't a card.

I started with one of those basic little 2-year pocket calendars that you can purchase at the Dollar Tree, Michael's, discount stores, etc. Cheap and useful. I like that!

But........ the covers are usually quite boring! *yawn!

So I spruced mine up:

What do you think? Fun? Useful? Pretty?

Sketchy Design

I made this card quite some time ago, but never seemed to get it posted here on my blog. Sue (of the Baker's Dozen Group on SCS) sent the images and challenged us to make a card using Sketch #SC488. I don't normally use sketches. I like them. A lot. But I just never seem to pull one up and try using it. So... I loved Sue's challenge!

Blowing Bubbles

Quite some time ago I latched onto a Sassy Cheryl's freebie digi image. And you know how that goes. It was adorable. I had good intentions to use it ASAP. Yes. I. Had. Good. Intentions. However... I never seemed to get around to it until now.

I used the papers that I received in Imke's Mystery Image group. Pat sent them out to all the members of the group. They are bright and cheerful! I love them!!! Thank you, Pat!

Today Isn't Just About Taxes...

It's also the day for Dueling!

The Dueling Darlings post their duel creations on the 15th of every month, so today is the day.

This month Tami and Melina are the hostesses. They chose a really fun theme for us...

I Picked a Flower for You

And Melina sent a FANTASTIC kit to the Dazzlers. (I'm sure Tami sent an equally AMAZING kit to the Divas, but I didn't have the privilege of seeing it, since I'm a Dazzler.) THANK YOU, Melina and Tami!

Melina's kit included the following items:

Image - Whimsy Stamps "Fistful of Flowers"
Sentiment - CTMH "Sweet & Lovely"
Cardstock - Stampin' UP! Very Vanilla
Designer Papers - DCWV
Die Cut - Wonky Cloud - MFT, Spellbinders - Dalia
Baker's Twine - CTMH
Buttons - MFT
Ribbon - Wal-Mart
Metal Emellishment & Flower Bling - from her stash

Melina also told us that we HAD to use the green ribbon on our cards. (Not a problem, Melina! I love using ribbon!)

Now, before you see my card, you need to know, I didn't use many things from the kit......... because I thought the image was soooo cute! And I wanted  her to be the focal point of my card.

Isn't she adorable!?!?!?!

Here's the inside of my card:

Please be sure to go to the other Dueling Darling blogs to see what they made - you can find the links in my left sidebar.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!
(Wasn't that more fun than standing in line at the Post Office to pay your taxes???)

Other than the items in Melina's kit, the only item I used on my card was a piece of Stampin' UP! Wild Wasabi Cardstock for the base of my card.

I'm late... Very VERY Late.

Yikes! Time has gotten away from me.

The Dueling Darlings duel it out on the 15th of every month. It's on the calendar. Kits arrive a week or two before that date, we create, and then on the 15th, we reveal.

Wellllllll... Paola sent a wonderful kit to the Dazzlers last month!

Kit Items included:

Stamped images - 'Coffee and Friend's  w/ sentiment (from Inkadinkado 96576 P) , 'Java Jumpers' /House Mouse (from Stampabilities),'I don't do Mornings' (from Stampabilities) , 'Chamomile Tea'  /House Mouse (from Stampabilities), * plus a mixture of sentiments*

Ink - Images are stamped on Cougar white c/s with Memento Tuxedo Black

Designer Papers - 'Honeycomb' by Time Spring (Fancy Pants) , 'Madame Mariposa' by Butterfly Collection (Prima) ,'Summer Kincaid Ave' by Scenic Route ,'Tip me Over' by Time Spring (Fancy Pants), Coffee notes by Mead

Card Stock - 'Spice Market' by Recollection , dry embossed with 'On The Go' embossing folder (by Tim Holtz)

Accessories - Candy Floss in 4 different colors ,Grosgrain pink double sided ribbon , Grosgrain deep red from SU, paper flowers from Recollection , assorted large brads from Basic Grey , large and medium half pearls , (real) coffee beans.

THANK YOU, Paola!

Paola and Kadie were the hostesses. However, my kit didn't arrive before I left on my trip to ALASKA!!! So I didn't get my card made until I got home from that trip and regrouped here at home. That being said, the card has been sitting on my photography table (where my cards have their photo opp) for over a week now. Sheesh! Life is way too busy when one can't even get a picture or two taken and put them on a blog.

So, without further delay, here is my card:

The theme of this duel is
What's Your Brew?

We were also supposed to tell what our favorite brew is... well, those who know me know that I love going to Starbucks (BUT all I ever get there is a frappuccino). Truthfully, I'm really not fond of the taste of coffee. *gasp! But if you get it sweet enough - and make it taste like a shake? Yummo!

And, I'm not a hot tea drinker - hardly ever. Because it reminds me of the many times as a child when I was so very VERY sick that all I could consume was hot tea. So when I drink hot tea now, it makes me think I'm sick. LOL! Funny how mind-association works, isn't it?

Therefore............... my favorite brew is Iced Tea! Love the stuff. We drink a gallon or more of it each day at our house - and I drink well over half of that. I do let my two guys have some, though. ;)

Oh, and if I'm ever near a Quick Trip (we don't have them here), I have to stop and get one of those 0 calorie white peach teas they have. Bliss!!!

Here's the inside of my card:

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!
Please be sure to head over to the other Dueling Darlings blogs to see their cards, too. You'll find links to them in my left side bar.

The only thing I used to make this card other than the items in Paola's kit was cardstock (Recollections Black and Stampin' UP! Confetti Ivory).

THANK YOU for a great kit, Paola! And thanks to Paola and Kadie for a great theme!

It's Reveal Time

Every two months the Unidentified Image swap group on SCS creates a card with an identical image that is stamped/provided by the hostess. Today is the reveal day!

Paola hosted this round and sent each of us a super fun image to use - Stampabilities "One Size Fits All"... don't you just love that name?!?!?! Though we do all understand that one size truly does NOT fit all, right?

However, the saying on the stamp is TOTALLY correct!

A hug is a great gift one size fits all

I was in a huge time crunch with this card - my travel schedule has been exhausting this year. So my card is very VERY simple. Egad! I chose to not even color the image, instead going with a simplistic and totally black/white card.

I hope Paola liked it.

Doing the Bunny Hop

It's time! It's time! Time for the 3 Musketeers to reveal this month's "secret" project.

Who are the 3 Musketeers? Why, Kelly, Barb, and myself, of course. ;) Each month, one of us serves as hostess and sends images to the other two. Then we all three create something (a card) with the same image. It's such fun!

This month Kelly was the hostess and sent us a sweet, SWEET image - CC Designs Sweet Pixie "Bunny Lucy". This image is so cute - and was a lot of fun to color, too! I love it!

My card? Well, not so much. But it is what it is. (Please forgive me for not doing a better job showcasing your image, Kelly.)

Here it is:

Be sure to HOP on over to Barb's blog and Kelly's blog to see what they did with this cute image.
