A Light In the Darkness

I am in a swap group on SCS called Sisterhood of the Traveling Cards. Seriously, this is one of the earlier swaps that I joined. We've been together - nearly FOREVER! The way the group works is that we rotate hostesses, so every other month there's another hostess and another theme.

The most recent hostess was Paola (whom we refer to as Sweet P). She gave us a WONDERFUL challenge.... yet a somewhat intimidating one. She asked us to go to Kadie's blog (Kadie is the amazing woman who started this group and what a cardmaking wonder she is! WOW is not an adequate word to describe her talent.) So as I was saying, we were to go to Kadie's blog and find a card of hers that we would CASE.

Seriously, choose ONE of Kadie's cards??? Impossible! I couldn't do it. I found 12 that I absolutely loved.

So, Kadie helped me out. She told me her favorite numbers are 3, 7, and 12... so I looked at the 3rd, 7th, and 12th cards of those 12 that I found that I loved. I still couldn't choose just one.

So, Paola helped me out. She chose #12 (without seeing any of the 12 cards, of course.)

Here's the card I created:

Do you want to see the card of Kadie's that I CASED?

Sure you do! Here it is:

Please go to Kadie's blog and check out the details on her card. You can find it by clicking here.

Obviously I changed a lot of things in my CASE. I used a lighthouse stamp set from Our Daily Bread called Keep My Lamp Burning. I love this stamp set, but the lighthouse was too big to use the layout exactly as Kadie did... so I flipped it to the opposite side and did away with the extra circle (made of patterned paper). I also didn't think the baker's twine would show up enough behind the image so I layered it on top of the image.

Here's the inside of my card:

I'm not sure I did Kadie's card justice - but I had fun trying to CASE one of her cards. I sure hope she and Paola will like my attempt.

This is my 77th card for the 100 Cards in 100 Days Challenge.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today!

Awesome case of our sweet Kadie, both beautiful in their own rights! Love the black that you use so often - such a great accent color! I think you did a stand up job, don't sell yourself short :)
