Bring Out the Kid In You

Today is March 15... do you know what that means? It means it's time for the Dueling Darlings to reveal this month's creations.

If you're unfamiliar with the Dueling Darlings, it is a group of 14 online friends, divided into two groups. Each group has a hostess for the month. This month Kelly and I were the hostesses. The hostesses choose a theme and send card kits to the members of their group based on the theme. However, no one shares with the other group what they got. It's a secret until today.

Kelly and I chose the theme Bring Out the Kid in You. The idea is to think back to our childhood and the things we loved doing, bringing out our inner child.

For the Dazzler kits, I ended up going with a very simple image, realizing that each of us would have different childhood experiences. Instead I went with the idea of two little friends, because I figured each of us had special friends whenn we were children.

I also included in the kit - just for fun - some scrabble tiles as well as some scrabble designer paper because one of the things I liked doing with my friends was playing games.

Here's my card:

I used a B and an A Scrabble tile to give the idea of Be a Friend.

As a challenge, Kelly and I asked the group members to add something to their cards that they would find with toys - crayon wrapper, felt, tissue paper flowers, that sort of thing. I loved playing with paper dolls as a youngster, so I added some paper doll clothes to my card.

Here's the inside of my card:

And one last picture of the front of my card:

Now, let's go see what everybody else created...
