Whoo's in a Tree?

October 31 - November 6

Recipe: a leaf, ribbon, and buttons

Here's my card - what a hoot!

I had so much fun creating this card. As many of you know, I love making owl cards because my daughter loves owls. (In fact, I am at her apartment in western Kansas right now and it is decorated so cute... with lots and lots of owls. A true Owl's Nest! Love ya, Brittney!!!)

The owl image is a Taylored Expressions stamp and it was given to me by a very special forest friend. Thank you, Joan!

The designer papers I used are some I bought on a previous trip, and just in case you are wondering, YES, I have already visited two scrapbooking stores and one Michael's on this trip........ and have made some DP purchases! ;)

Have fun creating!

Stamp-N-Doodle Boot Fits

For my main background paper, I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder to give the card texture, as well as fulfilling one of the challenge criteria.
The purple dots are actually pop dots placed between the circles on the embossed paper and then covered with purple glitter. I also put glitter on the star.
The two bats were made with a Sizzix die.

Gathering Acorns in the Fall

You might remember that last week I told you about a 2-week Chi Chi Memories Sketch Challenge. If not, you can check out that post by clicking here.

I've made another Chi Chi card for the challenge. Here it is:

Chi Chi Memories of Autumn

This card is a bit unusual in the fact that the card base is a piece of very heavy/stiff designer paper instead of Stampin' UP! cardstock. I like the textured look it creates.

I'm entering this card in several challenges, too:
Baby Bud Designs - Fall
Chi Chi Memories - Sketch
Paper Pal Arts - Autumn Inspiration
Paper Take Weekly - 3 of a Kind (3 leaf brads, 3 rhinestones, 3 colors of cardstock, 3 different kinds of embellishments)
Pixie Dust Studio - Fall Theme
Stamp Man - Autumn
Stampin for the Weekend - Fall
Totally Papercrafts - Autumn
Tuesday Throwdown - 3 of something (see above)

My Treasured Friends

It's October 15... do you know what that means?

It means it's time for the Dueling Darlings to post this month's creations!

For those of you who may not know who/what Dueling Darlings are... we are 14 online friends who challenge each other's creativeness. Each month - on the 15th - the Dueling Darling Divas and the Dueling Darling Dazzlers create cards using identical products sent to them by the hostesses. While both hostesses have the same theme, the products are a suprise. For me personally, one of the most exciting aspects of the duel is seeing what images/etc the other team is using.

This month's duel is hosted by Debbie and Carol

Theme: Treasured Friend

Debbie sent all of the Dazzlers (of which I am one) the most incredible kit. I immediately fell in love with the image - an adorable nesting doll set from Stampin' UP! called My Matryoshka. Having traveled to the country of Kazakhstan twice, I actually have several Matryoska dolls in my home. They hold a special place in my heart.

The designer paper Debbie included - Kaiser Craft Mumma Bushka, Misha and Mumma Bushka, and Inka continue the delightful theme of Debbie's kit.

Here is my creation:

Debbie sent the Dazzlers everything you see on my card except the cardstock and one special item.

Each Dueling Darling was asked to include a "treasure" f some sort on her card. The "treasure" stipulation was that it could not be brand new. It had to be some type of recylced item.

My treasure is an oversized blue poptop tab

Here's a closeup of the image so you can see how adorable it really is:

Now, let's take a look at what the other Dueling Darlings created...
